Kimberly Coleman

Kim has over ten years of experience in the negotiation and drafting of various agreements, privacy, commercial leasing, corporate governance, legal operations, and compliance. She has in-depth experience with structuring complex transactions, including varying classes of asset purchases and divestitures, real estate and technology. Her roles include Vice President and Associate General Counsel for a nationwide mortgage bank, as well as Associate General Counsel, Vice President and Privacy Officer at a federally chartered savings bank. In each organization, she worked her way up the ranks by assuming more responsibilities and ultimately more roles. Kim also served as the legal counsel for a technology subsidiary, which was a software reseller and implementation company. As such, Kim’s software related experience comes from both the sell and buy side of transactions. Kim was also involved with intellectual property rights, from both a transactional standpoint, as well as protecting her organization’s trademarks.

Kim is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional, United States, and serves on the Exam Development Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). She was recognized by Crain’s Detroit as a Rising Star in 2014. She served on the board of the Michigan chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and volunteers in the community. She serves as a board member for Survivor Wellness in Salt Lake City, and served as a board member of First Step, a nonprofit aimed at assisting victims of domestic violence, and is a contributing attorney member of Georgia Lawyers for the Arts.
